Bruce Weber works his magic again behind the lens with his beloved dogs. Whether it’s a custom made Moncler jacket or your run of the mill parka available at Petco, our four legged friends (especially the 90 pound variety), don’t like to wear clothes. I tried and failed miserably. It was a pretty stylish army green number w/orange lining too (wishful thinking). Back to the store it went with a little drool on the collar. But even if it doesn’t work, this campaign is still super cute. {found via NY Times)

Right after Point Break came out (and I watched it a dozen times in a row), I was pretty convinced I was going to become a pro surfer or at least marry one. One problem (actually two), I lived in Wisconsin (far far away from the ocean) and my swimming skills were just good enough to keep me alive, in a pool…..during gym class. One can dream though right? Powerful, inspiring, beautiful, peaceful and serene…..

What a great charity. Operation Heroes & Hounds matches homeless dogs from animal shelters with wounded military veterans. It is a charity that is beneficial for both military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury as well as giving animal companions a second chance at life. If you’re in the Chicago area, please check out the benefit for Operation Heroes & Hounds this Thursday (September 24th) 6pm at Bice Ristorante (158 E. Ontario). For more information, click here!
I’m happy to be donating this one-of-a-kind Toki piece to such a great cause! (Note: The feathers are ethically retrieved from naturally fallen feathers from peacocks).

It’s Official….

Mister Oliver is a Toki employee. O received his first piece of mail yesterday. I didn’t really think anyone took his bio seriously. But I was wrong! Thanks Google….he appreciates the acknowledgement.

from a long hiatus of blogging. No good excuse except perhaps the summer was quite busy. Not to say that I didn’t “fake” blog. I have about a dozen drafts that I never posted….again, for no good reason. But, I’m back and to kick things off, I’d like you to meet Albert, the new resident plant at the studio. It’s a Snake Plant and for someone who has the worst green thumb on the planet (like myself), it’s the best kind to get. Apparently, it’s the hardest one to kill.

To spruce things up in the studio and to detox the air, my mom decided to get Albert for me (thank you!). Just to make sure that I really wouldn’t kill this alleged resilient to practically anything plant, I did a little research. And good thing I did! Snake plants, while beneficial, can also be highly toxic to animals. Enter Oliver, our “studio manager” and resident canine. Luckily he has never liked greens, but good info to know in case he changes his mind.
