Happy Birthday Little Lady!

Posted in Uncategorized by tokicollection on December 2, 2009

So, today is my niece’s birthday. She’s six! Emily is undoubtedly the coolest and funniest little girl that I know. She visited the studio one day and discovered a mountainous bag of colored string. Jackpot! Friendship bracelets for everyone she knows. She’s quite the apprentice in the making. Just look at her…she understands the importance of protective eyewear! And, she came prepared. Check out the Blue’s Clues yogurt drink and cheese squares.

Today’s your day. I am thankful you are in my life. You endlessly make me laugh and surprise me.

{Pretty Spaces}by Rilla

I get an instant smile across my face when I see beautiful work spaces. Makes me want to hijack their studio and take it over! Ok, I’m not that crazy but I do draw inspiration from pretty spaces from the likes of artists like Rilla Alexander. Not only are her illustrations incredible, but she has a studio to match! Look at that natural light and of course, the dog.

My own studio is constantly in flux. I’m always moving furniture, adding new prints, and buying new things. Since it’s like a second home, I figure it should feel like one too.

Mulberry love…..

My cousin has a great way of making me want then need things, that I really don’t need at all! She sent me a link to Mulberry’s collaboration with Apple and at first, I shook my head. Then I went to the site and the pop of pink on the screen intrigued me. Realizing that bright pink patent leather just ain’t my thing, I rolled over to the supple black leather selection to ooh and ah….and then finally, I bookmarked it. My laptop does need a home…(sigh).

Thanksgiving Feast….

Posted in Uncategorized by tokicollection on December 1, 2009

Thanksgiving has come and gone. It was a special day to give thanks for the things that matter the most to us and it was especially sweet for one special dog. Oliver devoured his supposedly easy on the stomach meal, but apparently sweet potatoes, rice, and turkey are anything but. I also had no idea that this is like crack for dogs.

Playing dress up….

is ok on Halloween! Ladies, it’s that time of year when you can dress like a total tramp and have your ass, among other things, hang out (even if no one wants to see it)! But, if you want to skip the stereotypical, schnoresville prostitute outfit, check out this “Where The Wild Things Are” outfit by Christian Joy. I want this, in a bad way. Opening Ceremony also collaborated with Where The Wild Things Are and came up with this very comfy wolf suit. So comfy, it’s Snuggie like….but way cuter! Too bad it’s sold out. (Image found here)
